a wedding and the weekend

Howdy, readers. Who watched the wedding last night? (Let the record show that my hand is raised high.) I so desperately want Jim and Pam to be real people who are really in love and really got married on a boat at Niagara Falls (not to be confused with “Viagra” Falls, eh?).

Kell and I are looking forward to a weekend at home with no plans - a luxury we haven’t had since the dog days of August. It’s time to clean up (ew), work inside the house (ew again) and get in the yard (double ew) while Kell drowns in college football. What are your plans?

Need something to do this weekend? Give this Delicious Dish a try...

Easy Bruschetta (or as Giada says it, brushketteh)

2 tomatoes, cubed
1 teaspoon dried basil
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
seasoning salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste

In a medium bowl, mix tomatoes, dried basil, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic, seasoning salt and ground black pepper. Cover and chill in the refrigerator 8 hours, or overnight, before serving.

Enjoy your weekend!

They are. John (Jim) and Jenna(Pam) are engaged in real life. No Viagra Falls, but close enough.

Here's a useless fact: One of my co-workers went to Italy a couple of years ago and said that they "sch" in bruschette is pronounces "sK" in Italian so it is should be pronouced "brew-sket-a". Although we all butcher it, I always think of that everytime I hear that word! :) ha
