the cupcake indicator

During these tough economic times, it’s the little things that matter – literally. Certain items in our society seem to be recession-proof: cosmetics, candy and cupcakes (or so I hear on the news). It seems like when people don’t have big bucks to dish out on diamonds, cars and furniture, they still want little indulgences that won’t break the bank but might definitely make their day. Butter, flour and sugar make great self-medications. And who am I to argue with a cupcake?

There is an airstream trailer that sits on the side of S Congress Ave here in Austin that is called "Hey, Cupcake!" They sale cupcakes & you can always count on a line. It's just the simple things in life, for sure! Thanks for your comments- can't wait for you guys to meet Hutch- we will be in town the week after Mem Day with our little man. He is so much fun!
